I decided to leave Verizon Wireless after years of plans changing that provide less service than I had before and cost more than I paid on previous plan. Got sick of that. A year ago I verified contract end date as April 30. Since January I have been researching cell phones and carriers and found a good deal. Nearing the end of April I visited a store that carries Verizon. He verified the contract end date and explained the new plans and discussed options available to me. He ALMOST had me convinced to stay with Verizon. I purchased new phones and switched carriers on April 30. I called Verizon Wireless on May 2 to cancel service. Customer Service tells me the contract end date is May 31!?!?! To cancel now would be $120.00 PER PHONE (I have two on Verizon) PLUS the ENTIRE MONTH OF MAY! Note: verizon will not prorate even if you are one day into next month of service!!! Customer Service nor Supervisor seemed to care at all that I have been viewing my contract end date, had verified with a store, and had verified with Customer Service BEFORE I BOUGHT OTHER PLAN. Now, one week after last verification IT CHANGED!!! I supposedly have cancellation on the VERY LAST DAY of my "Contract" all set up. I still end up paying for May, when I truly believe I should not. They offered No solution AT ALL. Compromise is not part of Verizon vocabulary. Now I have TWO carriers to pay. I ask Verizon, "How can I feed my daughter this month?" I am EXTREMELY UPSET and I am telling as many people as I can about this.
