I telephoned Amex travel services to book a hotel stay in New York City. There were a number of options and there were some specials at a few 4-star hotels, one being The London Hotel. I was currently on americanexpress.com and seeing a better rate. I was informed that I could book it online at AmericanExpress.com, which I did. I was told of all of the perks of the hotel, such as room upgrade (if available) late check-out, etc.
Upon my arrival, I was told by the front desk clerk that I am not an American Express customer, but a Travelocity customer and was booked in the lowest floor possible looking into the abutting apartment building next door.
I caled Amex, and was told that they would be VERY surprised if I wasn't explained this in my initial conversation with the American ExpreTravel Services rep. After basically being called a liar, I informed them that I was canceling my Platinum and gold cards and he gold cards of my employees. I would love to hear from the fellow customers any suggestions for hitch credit card to get for me and my company. Thank you, T Moose
