My husband and I took our honeymoon trip to Moorea and Bora Bora this year. We had accumulated points
on our Platinum card so went to the PTS/Amex to
discuss a travel package. It turned out to be very
unsatisfactory, since the packages offered did not
meet our budget or other requests. We verbally
by phone advised the travel agent we were no longer
interested in booking with Amex/PTS. Ww book with an outside agency but when we returned from out
trip, we found a charge of over $3000.00 on our
Next month's statement. After inquiries, we discovered
that the Amex/PTS agent had indeed booked us
into a hotel without our knowledge or ok. We hav
been trying to dispute this charge for over 2 months and all we get is a run around. Amex states
that the only proof they have to have is the fact that
their vendor had us booked and we were a no show
therefore pay the charge and go away. This original
offered package from PTS had 3 components.
A hotel booking on Moorea, A hotel booking on
Bora Bora and airfare. 2 of 3 components were
Cancelled, one (the one we are being charged for)
was not. Since there is no way we could have booked or cancelled the bookings for ourselves
it proves this was a Amex in-house error. I am
sure that eventually we will have to go to court
since there is no way I am going to simply agree to
pay this unwarranted charge. I would like to know
if this has happened to any other Amex, PTS or CTS
customer. If so sent me name of your attorney.
