American Express Very unhappy with my treatment... - customer services

I have 2 credit cards with Amex, a costco revolving credit card and a Gold Card.in the past week I paid 1200 on the costco card and today when I look in my email and find an alert telling my credit limit has been cut in half. When I called to ask why, I was told that I had too many outstanding charge cards. I just recently paid off all my charge cards and asked in the past 10 years that I had this card did I ever miss a payment or make a late payment I was told no and we understand your being upset. If this is the way American express treats its good paying on time customers then I do not want to be one...
