I am in Brazil, South America. When the adoption of a little girl is complete we will be returning to Idaho, USA. I bought a Nikon camera in the USA and had my brother FedEx Express 3 day shipping at a price of $486.00 US Dollars to me here in Brazil. The package only contained the camera and also my personal mail from my home in Idaho. I followed the tracking of this item and the next day was in Campinas, Brazil and there it set. After 5 days I called FedEx in the USA they told me to call the Brazil office. On the 6th day I called and they told me that the package was very slow in being released from customs, the are receiving many packages a day. I complained because I paid the extra for 3 day shipping. The lady on the other end said please have patience. 2 weeks later I noticed on the tracking web site it was released for delivery, I called again, this is about the 12th time, they said it would be here that night. I asked is there a problem, they told me no problems, I asked when the package arrives I will be able to get it, yes there are no problems. The next morning I called again, and the same thing no problems I will get my package in the afternoon. The delivery van arrived with the box, BUT they told me I had to PAY R$3,018.65 Reais ($1,818.75 US Dollars) of course in cash. Just a camera and personal mail, and that is all that is in the package. I was told after calling again to FedEx in Campinas, Brazil I either pay this amount or I will loose the package and all contents inside. I asked them I can not pay this amount and they need to send it back to my brother in Idaho. I was told then that I had to pay the return charges and also pay the Taxes on the package, over $1,200.00 US Dollars. Now 2 1/2 months later I still do not have the package, it has not been returned. Today the FedEx Office called me and being real nice lowered their figures by $500.00 Dollars, so now I need to pay $1,386.00 to receive the package. I only know I want the package and I should not have to pay such a ridicules price. What is it that I can do. Thanks and hope I can get some help.
