I have been an AMEX member since 1988. Last summer I used some points for Express Rewards Hotels prepaid cards. I used all but one and just tried to redeem its Feb 13th. The card it seems expired Jan. I did not know they expired. I called the Customer Service number on the back of the card. Its the Service Company no American Express. They were like, tough we are not issuing another cards and not refund for the unused points. It was highly insulting the manner in which they said, hey we do not card.

So I called American Express and got the Memeberships Rewards Customer Service. They well, like tough we sell your point to the Service Company and its out of our hands. No option for returning the point or issuing another card. The points are there, the company got paid, They are my points.

What kind of customer service is this to a long time member or any member?

This is another example of companies trying to offer an advantage to get customers and cheat them out of the supposed rewards.

I am going to blog my brains out over this. Its the principle of the issue at hand.
