My engine had a knock and a blown head gasket so I came to the conclusion that my truck's engine should be rebuilt/remanufactured. I looked up any local shops that could do it and found MJM engines. They gave me a price of $1,000 not including core charges and tax. I agreed and had them work on the truck for 2 weeks.

My bill turned out to be just under $4,000. I took a look at my bill and every little thing they changed/replaced was wayy over-priced. But figure, they're doing the repairs, they can charge whatever they want. Something simple as $8 per quart of oil. It's not even synthetic! After 10 months of driving, the knock came back and I took it back to them.

When I asked them what went wrong, they said, "A foreign object got inside the engine." They used what banks and politicians do called, "passive voice, " when they deter from being responsible. At this point, I don't think they remanufactured the engine. Had they done quality work, nothing should've gone wrong in the first place.

Another 4 months of driving again, I brought it back because I there was too much coolant (white smoke) coming out of my tail pipe AFTER the car had been warmed up. My conclusion was that the head gasket had blown again and somehow liquid was getting into the engine. A few hours after dropping off the truck again, they call me at home trying to blame me for the engine overheating because they saw, "dry splatters of coolant" on the side of the radiator. They assumed I let the engine overheat and tried adding coolant.

I'm thinking to myself, "How can that engine overheat after getting it back from you guys in less than 4 months and WHY would I need to add coolant in such a short amount of time?" I've left out soo much detail but I have to add, their shop is "busy" so it takes a week before they can get to an old customer's car when they already have your money.
