Cars & Transport

Bought a rebuilt engine from 123engine.com. It arrived, and my mechanic installed it. It leaked oil from the rear main seal.
Contacted ELI who referred me to Sam. Sam agreed to send me half the labor to replace the rear seal. The new seal was installed and 2 days later it began to leak. Returned the engine. They paid no labor but sent another engine. They did say that the rear seal was installed incorrectly. That doesn't explain why the first rear seal also leaked.

My mechanic installed that one but discovered after it was in that the cam sensor wouldn't fit. That led us to discover that it was the wrong year engine. Returned that engine. They paid no labor. Third engine they sent looked good and the cam sensor fit. It began to leak oil from the rear seal. I sold the car and gave up after the labor to remove and install 3 engines. This entire project took almost 5 months. They claim to be a large operation but I never talked to anyone but Sam and Eli. Watch out for these guys.
