Package Misloaded on Truck, Refused Same-Day Delivery or Pickup

I checked the tracking status in the afternoon, when I realized the delivery had not been made. I called FedEx and was told that they made a mistake and put it on the wrong truck. I told them that when it gets back, they should put it on another truck and deliver it. "No can do, it will be delivered tomorrow." Not good enough, I said, can I pick it up? "No, you cannot." Well then, deliver it today. "No can do." You made the mistake, why should I suffer for it? "Sorry, we really are sorry, but there is nothing else we can (will) do for you."
The item was returned to the facility at 1:22pm per the online tracking, plenty of time to get it to me. But that would inconvenience FedEx in Bethlehem, PA.
