Ripoff refund Why does it take 40 days for refund. They had my money instantley

I cancelled my contract. Sent a confirming e-mail. Continental said it would take 40 days to refund. Asked them why they sai it was Company policy. They received my money instantley. Don't understand the long time period for the refund since it comes off my charge card..
