Rush flower order paid for but never delivered

I ordered flowers at 8:30am on Saturday, January 11th, with the expedited delivery service, so the flowers were to arrive no later than 12:30 at my fiancee's work. I called Fromyouflowers several times between 1pm and 6pm since I never received the delivery confirmation email. In doing so, Fromyouflowers claimed to have called the local florist several times, left several messages, and put a RUSH on the order since it was already late, but never got hold of anyone at the florist; nor did the florist ever call Fromyouflowers back.

How can a rushed order with a 4 hour window, placed at 8:30am, not only miss the 12:30 deadline but just not be delivered at all? That is beyond me. The customer service has been polite to this point, but I can never get that moment back to give my fiancee the gift that would have turned her day around and put a huge smile on her face. I now see this company has a reputation for late and non-deliveries. Fortunately, they might refund my money, but the moment in time to give someone special a gift at a special time is priceless and forever lost. Please proceed with caution when placing orders through fromyouflowers.com. I should have done my research before hiring this company, as I could have just as easily gone to a local florist myself and then dropped off the flowers at my fiancee's work.
