Ripoff Threatening fraudulent billing dishonest methods of trying to collect

This company claims I owe them $632.50, on a Citibank Visa card, from 1996, eight years ago.

They called my sister in another city in another state altogether in order to try and find me first on Friday, July 30. She gave me their info, and I contacted them. They gave me trouble in the first place with explaining what the initials IPM stood for. They claim I owe them $632.50 on a Citibank Visa card, and tell me I have to pay it by the next day, Saturday, July 31. They threatened me, telling me if I didn't pay, I would have to pay thousands of dollars after they filed an injunction against me in court on Monday.

I've never heard of a practice threatening a client on a Friday night that they had to pay up or face court charges that Monday, knowing there's no business open to deal with the situation over a weekend.in addition, my credit report lists nothing about this claim, and if it did, the fact that this collection is about something eight years ago puts it past the statute of limitations according to NY State and Federal law. Also, I never owned a Citibank Visa card. I've had two Visa cards in the past, niether were Citibank.

The company has 15 complaints against them in the last 12 months according the Better Business Bureau, and an Unsatisfactory rating. I have my credit report, and past bills and checks to prove I do not owe anything to anyone.
