Preapproved for a card, then declined despite excellent credit

Worst customer service ever! I've had an account with them since I was 18 and decided it would be easier to have a credit account with them as well. They preapproved my credit card, only to decline me, even when I told the representative that I have excellent credit and multiple credit cards that have high limits.
