Disputed Computer Charge Denied, Then Rate Raised to 28%

I had a Sears Mastercard by Citi Card or Citibank, which I paid regularly with no bad history. Then I asked them to reverse charges for a merchant complaint with Arizona Computer Outlet. I returned the item in 3 days and they wouldn't honor the 3-day return policy. The dispute was denied and the charges were left in place. Being a part-time resident in 2 states, I had to change my address in order to get the "assistance" offered if you are dissatisfied with a merchant and a product.

After that incident, no bills were sent from May to September! But I did receive the "new terms" agreement at the proper address. There was no phone call, and they had my permanent address, where mail was forwarded! The post lady says they do that when they find out about a different address, just to get you!

Finally they called in October and said I owe $555 now to reverse these charges. I explained that I had not had a bill and figured it was taken care of by someone who noticed the lack of action by Sears and Citibank on the funds regarding the computer.

In good faith I sent half, $278, and now they have me owing $555 past due (the same amount), due Nov. 31, and $879 due Dec. 1. They reduced my credit from $8,800 to my current balance, creating over-limit fees along with late fees. They also cancelled my privileges on 3 separate cards and raised the interest rate on the bill to 28%.

Get that! Never give any bank any money in good faith to save a credit report. That is the first thing they go after.

I think consumers are victims of a credit report, and if one didn't care about it, they would have nothing to hold over your head! Who started a credit report anyway?

It is our report, but we cannot see it unless... and only they can report to it, and it takes forever to correct their lies, if it can be done. How do we change their system?
