My wife and I haven't subscribed to cable television in over 3 years and haven't missed it at all. It was only when we received a "too good to be true" promotion in the mail that we thought it might be fun again to sit aimlessly for hours flipping through channels we don't watch anyway.
We called DIRECTV and thought we did all of the research, asked all of the proper questions and made absolutely sure there weren't any hidden fees and that the price we were being told was actually going to be the price.
36 HOURS after installation our bill went up $20 from what we were told. Called customer service of course and was told 4 different stories from 4 different agents with no resolution only to be told "well YOU have to realize we still offer a great service". Crazy they can do this. We're stuck now for 2 years with them but we'll be very careful when we deal with them during this time having learned alot from this site, the BBB website reviews and cancel this deceitful company as soon as the contract period is over. Dont subscribe. You will pay more than you think!
