Directv is the worst. - DirecTV service

I had their service for about 1 yr. Every time it rained the TV went out completely. I left their company and went to RCN. My contract with them was up and I always paid my bill in full EVERY month so when I left them I paid my balance in full. About 8 yrs later I bought a new home and my husband wanted to try Directv saying that maybe after all these yrs their service improved. We ordered the service and they took our names and social security numbers to see if we owed them any past bills... They said everything was good and started service. We had service with them for almost 2 yrs, still not the best service as it still went out when it rained. Then one day I look at our bill and it says we owe them almost $600. I called them to see why and they said we had a past due bill from previous service for over $400. I told them there is NO way because I paid my last bill with them yrs ago, it said paid in full and closed, and they did a check when I started this new service. They said if I didn't pay it they would turn my service off and put it on my credit.in the next few days I spoke to many different ppl at Directv that just transferred me from person to person and nobody knew anything. They said I needed to show them a bill or check showing I paid it, as if I kept that for over 8 yrs. I got sick of it, cancelled my service, paid the bill I owed minus the $400 they tried to add on, and told them if they put it on my credit I would contact the BBB and anyone else I needed to. Needless to say, within 2 months they put it on my credit report. I wrote to the credit bureau, the BBB, and a few other places and after 2-3 months it was removed from my report. Directv is the worst company I have ever dealt with, avoid them like the plague!
