Why send ads - Sigh up with Direct TV

I received mail with a good price. Good enough I thought about switching to direct tv after years with my provider. It seems to me all I got was the bait and switch trick with two of your reps. Both stated the ad was a mistake! Even tried to blame the mail for the mistake. Yet throughout the first class letter it clearly stated the deal had been extended until 3/15/10. Today's date is the 2/9/10. So why do you send these ads if you don't even honor them?
