Direct TV
Direct TV - truly a bait and switch company

Electronics and household app.

Direct TV widely advertises a $29.95 package for monthly service. I heard about them in a flier I received with my Verizon bill. I thought $29.95 was a good deal so I canceled my Comcast, called Direct TV signed up for this package. I also told them if it cost any more that that, I do not want it. The operator assured me I would get the $29.95 package.
Within a few days, a service man came to my home and installed the dish and cables. He then asked me to sign a form for his work. I signed and low and behold - this is where the switch takes place! When my first bill arrived, it was doubled - plus I had to pay a monthly fee for the converters (which I expected). I got on the phone and explained to them that I did not receive the plan I signed up for. The representative tried to tell me that Verizon (the marketer) misinformed me. I got ripped off for about 2 months of this higher price plus I had to pay $180 to cancel the service. To make a long story short, Direct TV is a bait and switch company, they advertise one price and double it once they hook you in. Avoid them at all costs.
