I booked a trip on 1 June for myself and my parents for 5 June - 8 June On 2 June I was told by a doctor not to fly and to delay the trip by a week.

I called Travelocity on 2 June and was told that as I was calling within 24 hours, I could cancel and get a refund. However as it was a package, they needed to call the hotel as the hotel charged a penalty fee. They called but hotel reservations had left for the evening.

I was told to call back tomorrow to confirm the refund. This I duly did, only to be told that as I was calling outside of the 24 hours, I had to forfeit the flight costs (effectively 80% of the trip).

I explained that Samuel had spoken to a supervisor and had cleared this. Unfortunately, it wasn't documented. Samuel disconnected (or the call dropped, often a problem with outsourced calls). I was told he tried to call me back (he didn't).

I'm $800 out of pocket and will never use travelocity again.
