Room stays and my refund

I made a reservation what I thought was though the hotel but when I called to cancel they said I had to call expedia. So I got the number from my email. I called to cancel my reservation and she said it was all taken care of. I paid with a credit card and they said would take a few days to refund. Well 10 days later it still isn't refunded. So I call back now they are trying to tell me I never called and cancelled. I don't know what to do I need help
