Expedia cancelled hotel - Hotel 81 Bencoolen

Booked hotel in Singapore through Expedia. Turned up (so not a no-show) and room was not suitable. Hotel said it was OK to cancel reservation but could not find reservation details from Expedia. Said they would not charge for room. Expedia charged room and when I spoke to them direct they said they juts needed confirmation from hotel that we were not a no-show. 1 month later and no replies within 48 hours as promised on website. Still waiting.
