I recently booked 3 night stay through Expedia. I spoke to the Expedia representative when I booked the reservation and specifically told him that I wanted the flexibility to cancel the reservation in case our plans changed. I was told that if I cancelled by 4:00 of any day, we could cancel the reservations. As it turned out, we stayed the first night and needed to check out the next morning. I called Expedia in the morning and told them we were leaving and needed to cancel the reservation for the next two days. After much run around, they said the hotel owner would not let me out of the reservation. Then they hung up on me. I went and talked to the very nice hotel manager who said it was no problem. I would not be charged for he unused days. I called Expedia back and the agent gave me a lot of run around again, then said she called the manager again and I would be billed. This is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with.
