Substandard accommodations through travelocity

My husband and I were having our first vacation together in 20 years. We decided go to South Dakota and visit as many of the attractions there as possible. We booked a secret hotel room through Travelocity in Hot Springs for 6 days. We were thoroughly disappointed with the accommodations. First of all they tried to charge us for the room again even though it was already pre-paid. Our room had no fridge or microwave (the other rooms did), the screen on the window was ripped in numerous places. They did however replace this after we complained. There was no do not disturb sign, no pen and note pad. The internet was extremely slow when it did work, but I never did get the Wi-Fi to work with my phone. The room was right next to the soft drink machine so we had the pleasure of listening to clunking cans being dispensed. The television was an antique unable to show full screen format. There was old toothpaste on the doors of the cabinet under the sink when we checked in and it was still there when we checked out. The room was not vacuumed the entire time we were there. Breakfast was a joke. It was sufficient to start out the day if there was any food left, and if the staff did come to replenish it they would put out two or three items at a time e. G 2 bananas, 3 yogurts. If one family came in everything was depleted again. The building was not secure as the latch on the outside door was taped so it did not lock when it was closed. We enjoyed our trip tremendously but we will never book through Travelocity again. I guess the old saying is true, you certainly do get what you pay for!
