Gift Card Users Beware in Las Vegas - gift card

Today, Sept 3 around 10:30 AM, I took my mother to Macys @ 3634 South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas. I had purchased her a $500 gift card about a month before as I had done several times in the past. We shopped for about an hour and she found a few things she liked. When we went to check out, the gift card wasn't working and 45 minutes later we were told they had to check whether it was a legitimate gift card before they could do anything. Another 30 minutes had passed and still no resolution. About 15 minutes later, a manager finally came out and said they need to see my id. As the person who had bought the card, even though they confirmed the card was legitimate. I explained this is absurd as she had used the card in the past and has never had an issue. They stated that I was already given 15% so what's the big deal. We were treated like criminals, lied to and made to wait only to be told, basically get over it. This treatment was ridiculous, I have spent over $5,000 with Macys and their stores in the past year and even if not, deserve more than to wait nearly two hours because they thought the card w was a fake. Needless to say, we got the card and left.in all my years, I have never seen such horrible treatment with Macys, the associate should be fired.
