Unauthorized withdrawal of money from my credit card Orange

Shops, Products, Services

I signed up for a 30-day free trial of their credit report service, this on May 17.
On the same day I cancelled my subscription following their instructions that I had been sent via email.

It turns out that they charged me $9.95 dollars on June 19, for their service. So, I contact them again, send them an email explaining my situation, I receive a reply asking me to send them more information about me, such as my name, email, date of birth and service I did not want. So, I feel like I'm done with them. Not really.

On July 19, they charge my credit card $9.95. So, this time I contact my bank, esplain them my situation, and then call them directly. I had to spend at least 45 minutes on the telephone with one of their representatives (at this point I felt lucky just to find somebody on the other side of the line) who was trying to convince me to use their service for longer. Well, I had to be very firm in my position to just have my membership finally cancelled and then to get the reimbursemnt of the $19.90 they owe me. However, even though they said they'd reimburse me, they still have not done so.

I think I'll call them back and I think I'll talk to my bank again to see what I can do to legally complain against them. It's terrible that things like this should happen, it ruins the confidence of people in web-based services and businesses. I found the advert of CIC free trial membership on yahoo.com. I wrote to them tooin the hope that they will be more selctive next time on whom they allow to post advertisemnts on their websites.

I'd be glad to hear similar stories about CIC.
