Optionetics
Their FREE Trial period is a ripoff of $75.00

Business & Finance

Watch out for the Platinum Trial offer. This is scam to try to get you out of $75.00. Here is how they are trying to scam me of $75

I signed up for the Optionetics Platinum membership trial. Their site reads

Your credit card is a security deposit during your free trial.
Your card will not be charged during your free trial.
Once your 14-day free trail period expires, your subscription will automatically be renewed and the annual subscription fee will be charged to your card. Cancel anytime during your free trial and your credit card will not be charged.

I felt confident and I signed up the trial period. After 2 days I did not like the service so I went ahead and cancelled the service. I sent an email to Optionetics to cancel. Here is where the scam starts up. I get a reply:

"Thank you for your email. Your request to cancel your Platinum Express has been processed. When you cancel your Platinum Free Trial, you must return your Platinum Express User Guide to avoid the $75 fee. Please return user guide to the address below and please ensure that the RMA# is on the outside of the package. If it is not, our shipping department will not accept it."

What? They sent me a $75 "Platinum Express User Guide"! No where on their trail offer page they indicated that signing up for the trial period they would send me a $75 guide.

Their text says "Your card will not be charged during your free trial". But what they do not tell you is about the $75 they will charge you for a guide that you did not know they were sending you once you start the trial offer.

So the scam starts once you sign up. They send you a guide and they charge you $75. I have not recevied the guide as of this writing although I am assuming is useless anyway.

My Credit Card bill now shows the charge of $75. As of this writing I am trying to get them to refund me the $75.

I will update the report as my situation progresses...
