Beware!

Shops, Products, Services

Beware of how you cancel! I was cold called by a salesman from their company about the services they provide. They have a free "no obligation" 30 day trial. (Against my instinct I gave him a credit card number to set up the account) I was very pleased that the salesman followed up with me about the service. I did not have time to try out the service during the trial period and told him that I would not be using the service at this time. No problem. Then sure enough they charged my credit card. I called and it was promptly refunded as a mistake.

Three months later they start charging my card again. I was in tax season and didn't check my statements (again stupid on my part). Suddenly I get an email that I need to update my credit card info because it had expired. They had already charged me for four months of service that I did not use. I was told that they were a subscription service and even though I hadn't used them my account was open and active. Remember I didn't even use them during the trial period. NEVER had I used one minute of their service. There was no type of invoicing sent or payment confirmation for the months they say I had an open account. Fly under the radar and you'll at least get money from people like me that don't check their bank statements every month. Who will miss 29.95?

I was told that if I brought my account up current then I could cancel but until then I would continued to be charged. Emily said she had spoke with the sales team and there was no record of me canceling. Of course the salesman that I used was no longer there but was told they keep all notes and "there had been no attempt on my part to cancel." REALLY - then why did you make one charge to my account and promptly refund it seven months ago then not charge me anything for three months and then start charging me again. Where is that in the notes? Finally Emily found something in the billing to support my claim and she would refund the charges and close my account. Hope she put it in the notes so that when she is gone I don't have to repeat this.

Although they say you can cancel by phone DON'T believe them. Get something in writing that the person who canceled your account has truly canceled your account.
