Payment Plan Ignored, Sent to Collections and Reported as Charge Off

I was in a bad auto accident and was off work for a considerable time and I contacted Verizon to try and set up a payment plan. After I talked to them I thought everything was set up?

Then I got a call from a collection company demanding payment in full! I explained to them the situation and that I had set up a payment plan but the bottom line is "we don't care, our client wants they're money".
So I made arrangements with these leeches and paid everything. Thinking that was all done I got a credit report and the account with Verizon was stated as a charge off?
Since then I've made it a personal quest to advise people
{known or not }of the business practices of Verizon wireless.
