18- 24 month contract, hidden cancellation fees parke

I enrolled in Direct TV about a year ago. I recently found a great offer from another company and decided to switch. When I called to cancel my subscription I was told that when I signed up I automatically agreed to an 18 month contract. I am certain I never signed anything agreeing to this and they admit that I probably did not but irregardless by accepting Direct TV I am bound by this agreement, whether they disclosed this to me at anytime or not. I have gone round and round with them, every person I speak to tells me the same story. I did not have to really ever be told this, I should have know this, the info is available on the website. When I signed up I was told that I would be getting a special price based on a years service, the box rental is based on 18 months though.

I highly recommend that you do not even start with Direct TV. I have searched online and read hundreds of similar stories, they do not disclose this information, are downright deceptive about it.in fact, they have already been sued for deceptive business practices in Florida, I am sure more lawsuits will follow.
I ended up paying 140$ just to cancel my service, after a year of paying to much for crappy TV and bad reception. Direct TV is very dishonest, I wish I had never even signed up for it..
