Before signing with service read this! Read this before you sign up for vonage service

I signed up for Vonage service last April online. I signed up for the $14.95 Plan. Because I am out the country a lot, I don't use service much. For instance for the whole year, I had barely 100 minutes usage. Yet Vonage which had access to bank account, withdrew more money out of the account; basically they were charging me for a higher payment. When I caught it, and went back online and change the plan to a still lower payment plan. The change was made online, confimed etc. YEt a couple of months later, Vonage continued to take the higher payment, not once but twice monthly sometimes. I called Vonage to cancel the account altogether. A representative apologized, but calmly explained to me that changes cannot be made online to account — even until now — you still have option to do just that online. It turns out one can upgrade online but not downgrade a plan! That representative explained to me that I could not cancel the service without incurring some fees for the used switch that given to me at signing.
My contract is expiring on April 28. Today April 3, I called to cancel the service effective the last billing date for this cycle. Maria, rep # 56303, as if a human robot, keep parroting that I have to call to cancel exactly on April 28. This was after I endured several recording, automatic answerers etc. NO WONDER the company is loosing money. I going to call every one of my friends, co-workers, family and tell them about this questionable practice from VONAGE. Beware of vonage!!!
