Terrible Customer Service & Policies on Cancellation

I too have been a Vonage customer on/off for over 2 years. I signed up in 11/07, and now need to cancel my service as I have to drop my Internet.

I went through 30 minutes of telling the rep. That I needed to cancel, and FINALLY got it through her head. Unfortunately, since 2/07, Vonage now has a 2 year contract w / a $39.99 cancellation fee. This fee is automatically billed (and I mean immediately) to your payment account - in this case my bank account.

There was no getting around this w / the company. I told the rep. To disregard the call. She went ahead and cancelled my account, thus billing my bank account and overdrafting me, WITHOUT my final approval.

I called Vonage back, and was told there is nothing they can do.

I will NEVER use Vonage again, and will highly recommend to my friends/family they do the same.
