New Triple Play Customers Beware!

This is the clearly written promotion directly from Comcast's website as of today: It was copied and pasted into a word document while I was on the phone with "customer service" at Comcast so I could ensure that it was time and date stamped in case they tried to change the writing on their website.

Comcast customer service is now double and "triple" talking themselves out of having to offer the free Wii game consoles. As the wording is clearly stated "New Comcast Triple Play Customers", the 3 scripted reps that I spoke with today claimed a few different things in order to not fufill a now widely advertised campaign.

1. I was told that this offer is only good to "New" customers. When pressed further, I was told that I don't qualify since I had "standard" cable, which according to them means that I get at least 22 chanels. Mind you, I don't have digital cable, no cable box, and in my area, Comcast is the only provider. Apparently, if I had "basic" cable that would have been a different story and I would have qualified.??? Irrelevant since the offer states "New Comcast Triple Play Customers" not those with "standard" cable.

2. I was then told, by another person something slightly different. Since I am a customer of one of the services, (ie. Standard cable through my wall), I am technically not a new customer so I don't qualify for a new Wii. Again, irrelevant since their offer states that it is for "New Comcast Triple Play Customers".

3. I then was directed to a gentleman, Mike, an apparent supervisor who then told me that I could go to another part of their website, "services" and read the fine print on what Comcast provides as services overall. For the third time, I DON't CARE! The offer you put in writing, on Comcast.com and on national tv states that if you sign up as a "NEW TRIPLE PLAY CUSTOMER" between July 28 and August 17, with a 2-yr service agreement, you are entitled to receive a FREE Wii game console. I asked for direct contact information for Greg Butz, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Product Development for Comcast and was told by "Mike" that he didn't have that available. Hence, I am writing here in this forum in the hopes that I may say another person the disappointment and runaround that they too will likely get when they sign up for Comcast's Triple Play package during this time frame, hoping that they will also be receiving a free Wii game console.

I have done research and found that other people have been told different things so that they don't qualify.

I suspect that there are many ways that Comcast has in order to make sure that there are no qualifying areas or qualifying customers. I would love to read any other feedback from others out there that have also been caught up in this.
