Purchased packaging products and seemingly disappeared from the planet

In February, Optima contacted my company to purchase polyethylene bags saying they found us on the internet. They wanted open terms and a credit app was faxed to them for completion. Upon receipt of the completed app my company sent credit inquiries to their references. All came back with positive comments. As such, we honored their P.O. For heavy duty industrial and reclosable bags. With freight the bill totalled $ 2400.00. Now the phones are disconnected, and interestingly so, too, are those to the references. What a scam!
