Crappy, rude customer service, don't stand by their junky equipment failure

At the beginning of October, my cable box went out. We called customer service one morning and the woman walked us through some "troubleshooting" steps... Unplug this, unplug that, turn this on etc etc... Didn't work. Called back that evening, same troubleshooting steps. I finally told this person these steps didn't work that morning what makes you think it will work now, I'm not a technician, this isn't my job, send someone to my house today to fix this problem. A month later, still no technician and no service, but I did receive a bill for $320. During the time that my cable box was out, someone had ordered a number of movies charged to my account. I called them again. I asked the guy I spoke with how this could happen if my box wasn't working. He replied "that's a good question". Yes, I thought so... That's why I asked it. I told him I was not paying the bill. He was going to transfer me to someone else.

I believe this is where I spoke with the foreign guy. I can't tell you about our conversation because I couldn't understand a word he said.

The next person I spoke with took care of closing my account. I also told her I was not paying the bill and explained why. She was going to have someone call me back to discuss my bill. I asked how soon would they contact me. She said it could take up to 30 days because they have to investigate. I laughed (because I knew NO ONE was ever going to call), we ended our call, and here I am almost 3 months after all this started looking at a letter from a collection agency. (By the way, no one called to discuss my bill) If Charter handled all of their business as quick as they turn someone over to a collection agency life would be grand wouldn't it? They couldn't get a technician to my house, they couldn't give me any answers on the phone, and they couldn't return a promised phone call, but they sure did have a fire under their butt getting to that collection agency. I'm still not paying the bill.
