Power companies ripping off the poor and elderly

This crooked and scamming power company needs to be investigated. My grandparents, in their upper 70's receive their electric through this profiteering, sleezy company. They get the homeowners to read their own meters claiming they can't afford to pay meter readers, this coming after they had their price gouging caps removed and literally doubled their prices overnight. Since then my grandmothers electric bill for her double wide, a relatively small living accomadation, has been around $200-225 dollars a month.

Last month, September, these crooked scam artists mailed her a bill for $400.00 dollars. She had used no air conditioning as the weather had been nice and the heat is fueled by oil/natural gas. My grandmother called these crooks to inquire as to why her bill doubled to get this, "You paid us a day early so we had to bill you for an additional 15 days." What the hell? If she paid a day early why in the hell would she be charged for an additional 15 days? Punishment for being early? She was told the only thing she could do was speak to the manager to arrange payment options. She was transferred to the thug managers office to get a recording, she left the crook a message and to this day has not heard back from the embezzling crook.

This month her bill was $280.00, now if she had legitamately been charged an additional 15 days it sure as hell wasn't showing up on this bill as it should have been deducted from the following month due to overbilling and overcharging days. Again, she was not being billed for additional usage of wattage or hours, just according to them, "15 days additional for early payment."

I wrote both our useless state senators, Benjamin Cardin and Barbara Mikulski immediately following her over billing and price gouging to try to find out who to contact to get these crooks investigated, and have not heard from them either since they could give a damn less about the people in their state suffering from these embezzlers and their crooked scams. The BBB (Big Business Buddy) is a joke and a scam as they work with and for these corporate thugs so no use contacting them. I only found out about this site the other day, and appreciate those who run it letting people have a way to get their outrages and crooked business acts against them heard.
