Vonage sounds too good to be true It is a Ripoff! Bunch of lies WORST SERVICE EVER

They promise a do-it-yourself system that will solve your high telephone costs. I already wanted to cancel service the minute I place my first tech support call.

It took a few phone calls for someone to help us connect the system. Once connected, my main line was dead for a week. I had no idea that while the phone was not ringing, messages had been retrieved by a voice mail that needed to be checked trough an e-mail. When I was told to disable the voicemail I had to face HUNDREDS of messages from angry/frustrated customers. Having lost customers to the lack of communication, I decided to cancel the service.

My husband gave up hope and cancelled his phone line even before his number was transfered from Verizon. VONAGE promises a 30 day Money Back Guarantee. He called 20 days after placing the original order. They told him that the service was cancelled and that no fee would be charged to his credit card. They do not give out a cancellation number as you will soon recieve the confirmation via e-mail. NOT!!!

This was two months ago and WE ARE STILL RECEIVING CHARGES to our credit card. When I called the company today, they tell me that the lines were NEVER cancelled. Apparently, the customer service representative FORGOT to mention that cancelling the # transfer with them does not mean that the account is closed. You MUST speak with an account manager to cancel service. Their stupid rationale is that you can still use the box and the "open line" even if you request the number to be cancelled. So, you have no phone number available with them but you are more than welcome to make phone calls through Vonage.???

I was told that there was nothing that they could do to refund the charges. The only way for them to "work something out" was if I kept service with them. ARE YOU KIDDING?

What kind of company forgets to advise you of such a crucial piece of information? The one that DOES NOT care about their customers, the one that will ignore your requests as if you speak in a different language, the one that does not listen to your complaints and will never accept responsibility for their mistakes. Such companies should be out of business before they ruin ours.
