Doesn't get their drivers home ripoff Desoto

Pacer transport promises a lot, but deliveries nothing. My husband recently started with Pacer. From the start I was not on board fully. At the so called "orientation", were he sat at someone's desk and discussed the company with many distractions and interruptions. He was not given a driver handbook. He was told that he could make 1200 - 1400 a week. He was also told they make sure they get their drivers home.in addition to this, now we have to wait 6 months for insurance. Yes, insurance will be available in six (6) months!

Now the truth is this. He is paid about 800-900.00 every 2 weeks. Not the 1200 - 1400 a week, as told during orientation and interview. Yes every 2 WEEKS, majority of trucking companies pay every week. So that is just a start. He was also told by the lady in payroll that the drivers get by the office more than they go home. Well we wanted the paycheck stub mailed home, but that was the response. Finally she noted he wants it mailed home.

He was out for a month, which during the orientation he was told he would be out about 2 -3 weeks, with the standard 1 day off for every 6 days out. Now when he finally got home for his home time, it was interrupted by a phone call saying "the customer wants the load tomorrow". After I called, they decided to route him back home with a load that delivers a few days later. Even though we live in Houston, were there is freight coming in and out of this place constantly. There was no way they could get him home any sooner. Because they could not find a load.

All of these companies are the same. They make and say anything to get the drivers in. Once you are there, you realize they are just like the other companies. When my husband first decided to go to Pacer, I checked here first. I wanted to see if there were anything out there about this company. Good, bad or otherwise, but nothing. So since that was the case he decided to work for them. Now we know different. I'm sure there are some wives and drivers out there who seems to believe Pacer is a good company. But I am speaking from my personal experience as a Trucker's wife.
