BTC home time, home weekends not actuality

Builders Transport, out of Memphis, TN, promises on its website to company drivers that one of the benefits they get as company drivers is to be home on the weekends... Or "home weekends."

Be aware that this is a lie.

They tell you after you're hired, and once you're on the road and ready to come home (Friday afternoon, to be exact) that your next load is picking up near your home (usually about 2 hours away), but then it's delivering in a state 1400-1600 miles away, so you have no chance of going home.

There's not enough time, so you're screwed.

Then, when you complain that you applied under different terms, you're told that they don't actually promise to get you home on the weekends. Plus, you're not allowed to bank a day like you would if you'd gone to an OTR company. You just lose the day. So, in effect, what's the motivation to even get you home on the weekends? None.

Every trucking company lies. They lie on their website, then they lie to you through their recruiting specialist, then they lie to you in orientation. Once you're out on the road, you're stuck there.

Legislation needs to enacted to stop these trucking companies from lying. Normal employees are protected. Who protects truck drivers? And, why not?
