Ripoff, Unbelievable Charges after changing my plan

We have been with Cingular for almost 4 yrs next January. Never had a problem until the merger with AT&T!!! Our regular plan was approx $90 a month and we had never gone over our minutes.

Gradually our bills starting increasing $10 here and there. All of a sudden our bill actually tripled. We couldnt believe it. So we called our main agent we work with and he said according to his records we went way over our minutes. WE HAD ROLLOVER!!! We just went ahead and paid it and left our calls to a minimum.

The following month it was about the same amount. There was absolutely no way we had gone over but of course that was their reasoning again. We went into our cingular store and had a new plan drawn up giving us more minutes and with the special going on it would actually be $10 cheaper than our regular plan.

We verified that our next bill would only be $80 with no extra charges and was told that was correct GREAT!!! Unfortunatley this very large packet came in the mail containg an equally large bill for over $540.

We immediatley called and was told there was a mistake in changing it over (their mistake I might add) and that they would take off $200. That left us with a balance of approx $350. Why should we have to pay for their mistake I would like to know?

So to make a long story short (Too late I know) we payed what our bill should have been and are waiting for our phones to be shut off and contacted by a collection agency. There really is nothing else we can do and no one in customer service will give us any info on how to correct their mistake. So good luck to fellow Cingular customers and to future customers!
