Where to begin? First, like most apartment complexes they show you this really nice model unit. Once you are ready to sign your lease you'd better go look at the unit you'll be renting first. The unit we were suppose to get had severe carpet stains, toilet seat was loose, a self was missing from the fridge, and the cabinets in both the bathroom and kitchen looked like something had been chewing on them. We went back to see if the had any other units we could look at to see if there was a unit in far better shape, but to our astonishment they just continued to get worse. One unit have roaches crawling on the walls and the entry door. All units looked as if the carpet hadn't been changed "EVER". The furnished units had mattresses that had obvious urine and/or blood stains. It took viewing six apartments in order to find one that seemed suitable for us. Well, that was an understatement as just 30 days in we started to get bites on our arms, back, and legs. BED BUGS!!! We have never had any type of bug infestation. So, they sent the maintenance guy over to look for the nocturnal little suckers. Yeah, no! They hide during the day buddy. He went back and reported that he found no trace of them. The same day I went on the hunt and found three that were engorged (Full of blood). Once I showed the office the captured bugs the scheduled treatment. After two treatments we returned to the apartment. The same night I was bitten again. The next night they bit my son for the first and last time. We asked to be let out of our lease as is not our fault that they have disgusting apartments infested with critters and they said no and that we will be charged fees for breaking the lease. Don't move here! This place should be condemned and torn down. I also think that they have linked the hot water heaters together as the water will be hot then go cold for 2 minutes then get hot again. Yes, the rent is cheap but you are better off moving into a shelter. Do not move in to ocotillo village apartments at 4221 e. Mcdowell rd in phoenix, az.
