Store Refused to Honor 10% Coupon After Purchase

A couple of days ago I bought a stove pellet from Home Depot in Southington, CT, and forgot to bring my 10% coupon. I thought that next time I would bring it and they would refund me, as I had done many times with Lowes.

When I went back with the coupon and receipt, I was told that the coupon is honored only at the time of purchase. I said OK, that makes sense, so could they return my purchase so that I could repurchase it with the coupon? Guess what they said: no.

Anyway, it was not worth arguing over 10%, but I had been a Home Depot customer for years, and that day I was planning to buy insulation for my entire attic. They disappointed me so much. I did not expect this from a store like Home Depot, to treat their customers in such a rude way. After that I said goodbye to Home Depot forever.
