Home Depot LG Washer not covered under Extended Protection Plan - LG Washe

I bought a LG washer from Home Depot in March. I have bought a few appliances from Home Depot in the past. I have also bought Extended Protection Plans for ease of mind. My thinking is that if anything ever went wrong with the product, I would be covered by Home Depot. Unfortunately, my LG washer started rusting around the bleach dispenser after the purchase. I grudgingly ignored it at first because it was mostly cosmetic. Now it is at the point where it may stain my clothes if they brush up against it or if a rust flake falls into the tub. I thought that I was covered but when I called the Home Depot, they were obviously looking for ways to get out of covering my product. My advice: DO NOT GET the Home Depot warranty plans. I'm going to Lowes next time.
