Sears HVAC
Don't be fooled

Real Estate

I purchased an AC from Sears expecting it to be installed by Sears as well. But no, Sears contract their work which means they sent the same company I couldn't found in the phone book (for cheaper). Bottom line after 2 months of no AC, 7 separate visits (including 2 by actual Sears’ technicians), a water leak for 20 days, several “fixes” that never fixed the problem, I went to a different HVAC company. This company said the unit was installed improperly. The coil has two hole like things on it, one of which the white pipe is connected. Well these Sears’ guys installed the white pipe in the wrong hole and sealed off the right one. The new installer noticed this as soon as he looked at the unit and said this was blatantly obvious and dangerous. When I tell this to other people who know HVAC, they all agree the problem would be obvious. However, neither the two different Sears technicians nor the three different “teams” from the initial installers’ company ever saw this.

Now I have mold under the carpet and in the walls. I’m going through my home owners insurance and this claim will be subrogated. However, guess who “responsible”? Sears? No, the contractors Sears contracted.
