Denied Lower Interest Rate Despite Being Current on Mortgage

We haven't been late on a payment for almost a year, but things are very tight, all we wanted to do is get a lower interest rate on our mortgage and surprise, we don't qualify for anything!!! We gave them money when they needed it! Now where is ours when we need it? It's bull*!!!
