Realtor, Linda Z of ReMax, Bryn Mawr, PA was only concerned with her financial gain and not our best interest in representing us in the sale of our condo. Examples: 1) The agreement of sale was written with the potential buyer being able to do construction on the property prior to the actual sale. Linda Z advocated this and tried to get this through without our knowledge. 2) Linda Z went on vacation and did not put our pending sale transaction in the hands of another experienced realtor but rather let her assistant (who, though nice enough, was unknowledgeable and inefficient). 3) Much to our dismay, the original sale did not take place. Why? The buyer was another realtor who was unable to secure a mortgage regardless of the fact that the sale agreement did not have a mortgage contingency clause. BUT, there was a loophole that both Linda Z and her realtor-buyer knew about — and we did not. The loophole pertained to paperwork from the condominium association. Linda Z informed me at the time of signing the agreement of sale that the buyer had a 5-day window to negate the purchase but she assured me that the required paperwork would be given to the purchaser in a timely manner. NOW HERE’S THE KICKER: Both Linda Z and the realtor-buyer knew that the condo assoc. Routinely submits one page of the paperwork one day prior to the sale date. Therefore, that was the purchaser’s excuse for not showing up at settlement. 4) Linda Z was incommunicado throughout this troubling time, but conveniently, was able to communicate with her assistant, the head of the ReMax office, and — inappropriately — with a member of my family with whom she should not have been discussing this matter.in summation, Linda Z was completely unsatisfactory at her job but more importantly, she was UNETHICAL in her dealings. Buyer and seller beware.
