Pharmacy Delays, Price Changes and Insurance Coverage Confusion

First of all that pharmacy is so screwed up these days its far from funny. First they tell you 45min its more like 2-3hrs. Then your given a price and its always suddenly higher and all of a sudden your insurance doesn't cover any of it. Example just One incidence:
Sept. 30 my dr. Called in rx for meds I can't have
I filled out an allergy form at Walmart long ago, at their request and my benefit. I told them I couldn't have it-Oct. 1st my dr. Changed rx to something acceptable and I called and was told my insurance covered full price.
After I drove all the way there-I'm told the price is $17.68 full price—my complaint is this is the second time this type of thing happened-the "freedom of choice" was not mine to make -I bet I could have gotten it cheaper and without a big hassle, with clerk, who obviously doesn't like people and without having to use all my gas to drive that far, too pay a higher price-I could have gotten it locally and saved $10. Gas. (back and forth) they never have enough help, at pharmacy, and now always different overworked people who couldn't care less about people and show it-used to be caring individuals there-that kid drove me crazy with what info I was to provide for cough med. Waiting on 4-5 people at same time. They don't look up your info anymore-and what happened to 4.00 list of meds.???
