Standing in aisle for 3 hour bus ride - bus ride

My spouse purchased a ticket roundtrip from Ottawa to Belleville. On boarding the bus in Belleville to return to Ottawa, she was informed that there was no seat available for her andd that she would have to stand in the aisle the entire trip. This is totally unacceptable for anyone to be standing for a 3 hour trip. It would also seem like it would be a safety violation.
