Verizon Wireless
Consumer Report

Miscellaneous

I was in a restaurant, having dinner with my husband, (who is 82 years and he got
ill). I rushed him to the bathroom and when I came back to my table, someone had grabbed my cell phone out of my purse. I called Verizon and reported it and they disconnected the phone. I was told by the Verizon person on the phone to go and get another phone. When I went to the Verizon main store in Vero Beach, Fl. (the most ruddest people I have ever seen), I was told I had to purchase a new phone for $299.00. I said that is absurd, my husband and I are both on social security. I asked them to work with me, since I have been a loyal customer since l985. A customer took me on the side and told me to get an old phone and they could connect it for me. I went home, searched and found an old verizon phone. When I brought it back, there was, of course, no charger. I was told the charger would also cost $299.00. This is the biggest rip off I have ever heard of
I was also in business, and I did not get paid for services unrendered. How can these people get away with this kind of scamming. Please help. This needs to stop. Helene Keil
