Verizon Universal Cell Phone Charger - Cell Phone

I thought I had lost my Cell Phone Charger. So I went ti the local Verizon store to buy a new one. They did not have the one for my phone but told me the universal one will work. When I plugged it into my car adapter, the message 'Unauthorized charger' was displayed. I brought it back into the store where they plugged it in and got the same message. They told me they had never seen this error before??? Ya, right. And told me that it looked as if it was charging and probably nothing to worry about. Strangely, the phone would stay powered on with the Universal adapter but it would not charge the battery. Anyway, I found my old charger and it works fine. So I brought the one they sold me back to the store 21 days later. (I was away on travel.) And was told to bad, so sad the return policy is 14 days. Even though they sold me a defective charger and told me it was ok to use. I'll shop on-line from now on. Going to the Verizon store is useless.
