About a week ago I was sent an email that told me that I could find out what grants may be available to me by going to a website. On this website there was an offer from Grant Assist to send me a information packet on grants available. There was a shipping fee of $2.95. I used my bank credit card that is drawn on my checking account for this charge. Today 10/31 I called my bank to check my balance and was told there was a charge made to my account with the name GrAssist.org for $57.93. I had received a comfirmation email about a week ago the same day I requested the packet. I then thought that the email sounded like I had subscribed to there services. So I sent a reply stating that I hadn't agreed to a subscription. And that I wanted to cancel my order for the packet. I recieved another email saying that the mail was undeliverable. When I checked to see this email again it had disappeared from my inbox. When I spoke to the bank about this they told me that it would not post to my account until 11/1 in the evening. Also I was told that I couldn't dispute it until it posted. The bank gave the information for this charge and said that there was an email address of GrAssist.org and there was a partial phone number with 8 numbers and there may be more information after the charge posts. I am very upset about this because my bank is going to charge me a $37.00 overdraft fee. I goet paid once a month on the 3rd of the month and when I pay all of my bills I never have more than $50.00 left so this is going to cause much stress and more over draft charges.
